Cocooned in sheer natural beauty, Gulmarg is a famous hill station located in Baramula district in Jammu and Kashmir. Surrounded by the snow-capped mountains, this destination boasts of lovely gardens teeming with colourful flowers. It is said that once the Mughal Emperor Jehangir collected 21 different varieties of flowers from Gulmarg. It is also a great destination for adventure like skiing and golf. The highest golf course in the world (2, 650 m) is located here and tourists from far and wide come here to play golf amidst mesmerizing surroundings and fresh air.

Gondola Ride
This cable car ride takes you to Kongdori and then to Apherwat and passes through the pine forest and wonderful surroundings.
Baba Reshi Shrine
It is a revered mosque built in the honour of a Muslim saint Baba Reshi in 1480. The locals have immense faith in this mosque. Its architecture reflects Persian and Mughal style.
Alpathar Lake
It is an arresting lake with a triangular shape and lovely ambiance. It is a famous picnic spot in Gulmarg where people come to relax in the lap of Mother Nature. During the winters it remains frozen.
Adventure
Come winters and skiing lovers flock to Gulmarg in great numbers. It is one of the best skiing destinations in the world. Other activities one can get indulged in are snowboarding, tobogganing, snow scooters and snow bobbing.
Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve
Sprawling across 180 sq km, the reserve is known for its musk deer. It is also a home to a wide variety of birds and animals such as hangul, serow, brown bear, leopard, black bear and red fox. For animal viewing September to March is the best time to visit the reserve and for bird viewing March to May is the appropriate time.

Generally all are good except that in shimla. Silverine hotel is not a suitable hotel for elderly people as they need to walk up and downhill to the hotel….though the place is ideal for shoppers -
