Attractions of Darjeeling
Tiger Hill
It is famous for its panoramic view of Mount Everest and Mount Kangchenjunga together. The first rays of the sun paint the twin peaks of Kangchenjunga with pink colour, creating a scenic beauty early in the morning. One can also visit Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, which offers a great picnic spot, with its two artificial lakes.
The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway
The famous Toy Train is a narrow gauge railway, running between the New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. Travelling through this train brings you face to face with amazing surroundings boasting of sheer natural beauty. It is quiet famous for the mesmerizing vintage British-built steam locomotives. The railway, along with the Nilgiri Mountain Railway and the Kalka-Shimla Railway, is listed as World Heritage Site. Riding in this train is an experience in itself.
Batasia Loop
This is a spiral railway created to lower the gradient of ascent of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway . At this point, the track spirals around over itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop. This interesting place is pretty famous among travelers.
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park
It is famous for lovely animals like Red panda and snow leopard, attracts a lot of tourists from around the world.
Shopping
The local market will definitely settles ones craving for shopping by offering lovely shopping items like jute products and statues. Darjeeling tea is one of the obvious things to buy here.
How to Reach
This place is well connected to the rest of the country through air, rail and road. The nearest airport is Bagdogra (95 km) which links it well to the major cities of India. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (around 75 km) which connects it to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar and Kochi.

Generally all are good except that in shimla. Silverine hotel is not a suitable hotel for elderly people as they need to walk up and downhill to the hotel….though the place is ideal for shoppers -
