Bangalore palace

Lal Bagh botanical garden
Set with a rare collection of tropical and sub-tropical trees and plants Lal Bagh was originally commissioned by Hyder Ali. The huge garden sprawls over 240 acres and is famous for the majestic glass house known as jewel of the garden and huge Lal Bagh rock.
Tipu sultan’s palace and fort
Initially built as a summer home for Tipu Sultan, the palace is sculpted entirely out of teakwood and is famous for its ornamental pillars, curved arches and balconies. A magnificent painting of Tipu Sultan adorning the hall is said to be made with moving eye and foot technique.
Cubbon Park
Treasured with many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, the Cubbon Park is located in the heart of the city. A place for nature lovers, the park offers Bal Bhavan for kids and an aquarium with a wide range of exotic and ornamental fish.
Bull Temple
Carved out of a single rock of granite the bull temple houses a majestic idol of the Nandi, vehicle of Lord Shiva. The large sculpture is about 4.6 meters tall and 6m long. Next to the bull temple is Dodda Ganapathi Temple which is also carved from granite and is 18 feet tall and 16 feet wide.

Bangalore is famous for its swanky malls but one can explore the street markets for silk saris, antiques, cotton fabric, sandalwood objects, paintings with gold leaf work and stone and wood carvings.
